GEOSYS pens alliance with UNIVERSAL to use UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) platform to produce Geospatial Products
Monday, June 5th, 2006VANCOUVER, B.C. - GEOSYS Technology Solutions Ltd. of Vancouver BC, announced today that it has received a contribution from the National Research Council Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP). The monies will be used towards a R&D project in the development of a UAV-based image acquisition system and data processing Station (DPS) for delivering near real-time Geo-Intelligent products for Disaster Management and General Mapping.
GEOSYS has entered an alliance with Universal Wing Geophysics Inc. of Vancouver, BC to advance the remote sensing technology in three key areas: acquisition platform, image acquisition and map generation.
The system will provide a less expensive more responsive mapping service with no pilot risks. The market for this product expands to include any industry using maps and geospatial information. These sectors include Disaster management, Forestry, Homeland security, Hydro, Oil industry, Civil engineering, and Governments.
This project will help GEOSYS to stay front and center in developing innovative solutions for our clients, an enabling technology, which allows smaller UAV platforms and less expensive sensors to generate high quality geospatial products, said Babak Ameri, President of GEOSYS Technology Solutions.
